Cage is a serial killer, just like Sweet Tooth. However, unlike him, he feels remorse for his victims and cries, though that does not stop him from killing. By entering this contest, he hopes that Calypso will be able to remove the part of his brain that makes him sad whenever he kills.

Cage won the contest. He went over to Calypso and wished for the part of his brain that makes him sad when he kills to be removed. Calypso proceeded to operate on him, not only removing his penitence, but also giving him a new pair of "hands." Soon Cage takes off, hoping to rival other killers such as Sweet Tooth.

Cage is the only driver of Warthog without a known background in the military, most likely due to the fact that his vehicle was known as 'White Knight' and not Warthog for most of development.
In Cage's ending, the scene where Calypso worked on Cage's operation is the same scene from Dr. Hatch working on No-Face in his story.
Clive S. Mitchell listed as Cage's name.
In the 'Movies' menu from the 2001-04-12 prototype, Cage's name was listed as "Clive S. Mitchell" instead.
Cage's ending was labelled as "MARV END" in the 2001-04-12 prototype.[1] The reason for this was because according to David Jaffe, Cage's design was based on Marv from Sin City.[2]
Cage is one of the few characters in the game who doesn't have all three cutsences (Intro, Backstory, Ending). The other characters missing cutscenes are Axel and Black (both have endings only), and Charlie Kane & Son (ending and an intro). However, there are unused scenes of each vehicle leaving the asylum.
