Bio Dialogue

Calypso is a character from Twisted Metal 4. In this game, he's a contestant instead of the host, driving the Nuke Mobile. He was once again voiced by Mel McMurrin.

"This is ridiculous, really. Twisted Metal is my tournament, it's my brainchild, it's mine! This will be proven soon enough... and I'll serve this same foul humiliation back to that crooked, collapsed, cortex, criminally handicapped, overly-made up clown!"

Story

Manual

The legendary Calypso is in exile, tossed off the Twisted Metal throne by a circus hack. He gave his heartless soul to the organization and this is the thanks he gets. He's going to turn Sweet Tooth into clowndog on a stick if he gets the chance. Calypso drives a surplus Soviet mobile missile launcher that's extremely deadly. He believes the right to bear arms includes tactical nuclear weapons.

Intro

It is shown in the intro that Calypso once drove a trackless Circus Train, while other drivers drove old-fashioned automobiles similar to the Ford Model-T, and that his competition started out as a town-to-town caravan event. After Sweet Tooth won the tournament, he wished to be the star of Twisted Metal, which eventually led to him usurping control of the tournament, dethroning Calypso.

In this incarnation, the source of Calypso's powers is once again changed, now being a ring he wears that collects the souls of those killed in the tournament to power his wish-granting abilities, as well as seemingly granting eternal youth.

Ending

Calypso wins the contest. His demand for the contest's ownership denied, he fights Sweet Tooth and the entire building is destroyed. The ring vital to his powers was pulled off in the ensuing scuffle and left in the debris to be found by a civilian.

Trivia

• Calypso looks very different in the intro cutscene and in his character bio when compared to his character model in the ending of the game and all throughout TMIII.
