Charlie Kane & Son are characters from Twisted Metal: Black. Charlie is a corpse, and is controlled by his son, simply known as "Taxi Boy".

Bio (Manual)

Charlie's son was like most normal boys. He brought home good grades, was respectful to everyone he met... an all around well-mannered child. It was his older brother that the rest of the neighborhood talked about though - the really bad Kane child. Everyone knew about him. But even the terror that he brought could not disturb the close relationship of Charlie and his younger son. They were the joy and light in each other's eyes. Nothing could separate them... not even death.

Story

One year ago, everything was going great for Charlie Kane and his son. He drove a taxicab and brought his son with him sometimes, but he wouldn't let him talk about his brother, who became so infamous when he began driving an ice cream truck. As for Charlie and his son, they were like best friends. And one fateful night, a passenger they were having had a gun, shot Charlie and ran away. His son was horrified by this, but had an idea. He put together a controller that made his father alive again and now controls him. Other people think it's weird and want to put the boy in a home and bury his father, but he doesn't want that. So he enters the contest hosted by Calypso, who promises to make things better.

Ending

Yellow Jacket (Charlie Kane and Son) - Twisted Metal Black

Charlie's son won the contest and went to Calypso, asking for his prize to make everything all better. It turns out to be a trick: Calypso destroyed the controller, deactivating Charlie for good. His son begged his father to come back and even tried to fix the controller, but he was pulled away by Calypso. Calypso told Charlie's son that, in time, things will be better and that he needs a successor to take over his contest when he dies. Charlie's other son would've been the perfect choice, but since his younger son killed him, he was the next best thing, as violence was in his blood.

• At 8 years old, Charlie's son could be considered the youngest (known) contestant in the Twisted Metal series (regardless of game).
• In the credit sequence, Charlie Kane's son is referred to as 'Taxi Boy'.
• Charlie Kane's son, along with Axel are the only unlockable characters to be Blackfield Asylum patients.
• Prior to his death, Charlie had a full head of brown hair. How or why he later became bald is unknown.
• Charlie was shot in his left temple, but in the vehicle selection and loading screens the bullet wound is shown at the middle of his forehead.
