Goth was a level from the cancelled Twisted Metal: Harbor City. The mall's name is "Blackfield Mall" as the name on the sign suggests, however in-game it is only ever referred to as "Goth".
Description[]
September 12th, 2003 Build[]
In 2019, a prototype of Harbor City from Sep 12th, 2003 (build 63) was leaked online, containing four levels including "Goth". This version of the level looked nearly complete. It is a mall of typical gothic architecture (hence the name) with an interior of shops and exterior of inclosed roads surrounding the outside of the building with a big parking lot. It can be explored without too much issue, though lacks any pick ups of any kind, the camera goes through walls if the player drives backs into them, some walls have no collision, and a narrow alleyway that leads to the level "City Center" can be found through the parking lot.
Out of all the levels in the 2003 prototype, this one appears to be the closest to being finished, albeit with some issues.
August 11th, 2005 Build[]
In the 2005 prototype that was found some years later, this level is not that different, aside from being more stable.
Locations[]

- Fountain Plaza - Typical open battle ground. Ideal for almost any typical combat. In the shape of a circle. Exits from here surround the area. Connects to the lower and upper floors of the left and right wings of the Mall; upper floors accessible via stairs. Exit behind the fountain leads outside, to a dead end section with a pathway to the left that leads to a very long and narrow stretch of road located at the base of the mall.

- Left Wing - Long, somewhat narrow area with lower and upper floors. Could be used to chase down fleeing enemies. Exits from here are at both ends with a few in the middle. Stairs lead to the second floor, and a statue of what looks like the Virgin Mary stands at the end of the opposite side of where the fountain is located. Wing ends with a brick way with a constantly changing billboard.

- Right Wing - Long, somewhat narrow area with lower and upper floors. Could be used to chase down fleeing enemies. Exits from here are at both ends with a few in the middle. Stairs lead to second floor. Wing ends with a handfull of stores, located at the opposite end of where the fountain is located.

- Parking Lot - Medium size, open area. Has light poles that could be used for taking cover. Ideal for almost any typical combat, even with a few light poles that might get in the way. Exits from here are located everywhere except for the area furthest from the mall; acts as a dead end. This location can also be exited via jumping over the guard rail (requires energy to pull off). When facing the sign that reads "Blackfield Mall", two narrow ramps on the left and right lead to a very long and narrow race track-like road located at the base of the mall. Center pathway leads into mall; specifically to the fountain area. On the rightmost part, a pathway leads into the mall; specifically to the right wing.

- Outside Roads - Very long and narrow. Ideal for escaping or tracking down enemies head on. Exits are very minimum and far apart. Exits to the parking lot are near the middle of the area. Spans across almost the entire level.
Connecting Areas[]
September 12th, 2003 Build[]
In Build 63 (otherwise known as the build being dated September 12th, 2003), there's a narrow alleyway located across the mall's parking lot. With the use of the debug menu, it is possible to turn on the seamless world the game was famously known to feature. At the end of the alleyway, City Center (Scenter) would load up. Since the dynamic loading between levels was only in story mode, it is unknown how the alleyway would be blocked off in multiplayer modes.
August 11th, 2005 Build[]
Goth still connects to City Center in this build despite City Center's major changes, however the original alleyway path was scrapped, despite it being partly, if not fully functional. It was replaced by a long and windy sewer system.[1]
Music Track[]
Track | Description |
---|---|
This track is likely only a placeholder. It is a small part of the full song Inertia Creeps by Massive Attack. It is disabled by default in the latest build. |
Trivia[]
- The mall's design has a striking similar design to the famous cathedral, Notre-Dame de Paris (or Notre-Dame for short). The cathedral is more widely know as the location where the story of The Hunchback of Notre Dame takes place.
- In concept art for Harbor City, this level appears with Crazy 8, Axel, Shadow and (possibly, as it is hard to make out) Roadkill reeking havoc among a crowd with the mall. The level looks exactly like the concept art, albeit with some minor details missing most likely due the PlayStation 2's hardware limits.
