Gridiron Gore is the sixth level in Twisted Metal: Small Brawl. It's a massive arena, and the player has to defeat 5 enemies to advance. Upon completing the level, the player is taken to Tree Top Rumble.

Description[]

"It's halftime at the high school football stadium, so the stadium's packed with fans! Groundskeeper Joe has been waiting all day to mow the lawn. Unfortunately, it seems that he has fallen asleep at the wheel. Watch out for his runaway lawn mower and try to keep the football field free of tire tracks."
—The game's manual.

This level is a huge football field surrounded by a crowd. There are two huge football helmet-shaped structures that both feature one Health pickup. The only hazard is a man sleeping on a ride-on lawn mower.

Environmental Attack[]

The environmental weapon pickup is in the middle of the field. Upon activating, the man sleeping on the lawn mower will begin to chase the nearest car in his path.

Hazards[]

  • Lawn Mower: It drives around aimlessly and damages any vehicle caught under it.

Trivia[]

  • The music on this level is a remix of Moscow's theme from Twisted Metal 2.
  • The team on the red helmet, which also can be seen in the scoreboards, references Roadkill.
  • Burning the scoreboard on the Roadkill side with a napalm reveals an advertisement for the Shock Therapy level.
  • Burning the scoreboard on the Tsunami side with a napalm reveals a hint on how to unlock Mime.

Beta Differences[]

An early version of this level from September 27th 2001 is present inside the ZDUMMY file that can be found in the MOV folder. By replacing the level file inside the game's ISO with the early one, you can play this version of the level. There were some differences in it, which are listed below:

  • Burning the scoreboards reveal cheat codes instead of hints for the levels Shock Therapy and the unlockable Mime.
  • The helmets can't be fully destroyed.
