Hammerhead is one of the vehicles introduced in Twisted Metal (1995). It appears in every Twisted Metal game, except for Twisted Metal 4 and Twisted Metal: Black. Hammerhead also appears in Twisted Metal (2012), albeit as a non-playable boss vehicle.

Description[]

Hammerhead has always been a monster truck, usually resembling a pickup truck with monster truck wheels. In Twisted Metal 2 it is an SUV, while in Twisted Metal III it is a jeep. In the 2012 game, it is notably much larger than usual, being larger than any playable vehicle in the game.

It has notably been driven by different contestants in every appearance it has made, although its drivers are most frequently characterized as having "cool" and/or wild attitudes and are usually unintelligent.

Its Special Weapon always involved crushing opponents using its giant wheels. In the first two games, this was uniquely activated by ramming into the opponents rather than manually activating it with a button press. However, in all other entries, it must be manually activated.
