Needles Kane makes an appearance in Twisted Metal III, once again being a secret character. The player has to unlock him by beating the game, or by inputting: " ←, ←, ←, →, → " at the Password screen.
Appearance[]
His updated look in this installment plays up the circus side of his personality, giving him a more clownish look and a great fascination with ice cream and candy. In the bio art he has flaming hair, but in his CG model he has orange hair.
Bio Dialogue[]
"I scream, you scream, we all scream for... me! Gather 'round kiddies, and let me show you just how sweet I can be! I have plenty of frosty, explosive treats for all the Twisted Metal contestants!"
Story (Manual)[]
If only all clowns were as sweet as Sweet Tooth, the world would be a much more psychotic place. This demented concessionaire bops around in his ice cream truck spreading merriment and salmonella. You'll also note that Sweet Tooth is down with the good humor: he'll be laughing the entire time he's launching the explosive head off the top of his truck. You'll have to earn this treat because Sweet Tooth is a hidden character available only after winning the game.
Ending[]
Needles wins the contest. Calypso grants him his wish of eating all the candy and ice cream to his heart's desires. However, as a result of never brushing his teeth, Needles finds himself at the dentist with drills ready to bore inside them.
Trivia[]
- Needles' costume from this game is referenced in Episode 2 of the Twisted Metal TV Series, as Sweet Tooth wears very similar clothes while performing in his show.
