- "I'd like you to meet an acquaintance of mine. He goes by the name Primeval. Be careful, he's not as friendly as the other contestants have been!"
- —Calypso, Twisted Metal III
Primeval makes its first and only appearance in Twisted Metal III, serving as the final boss of the game in Calypso's Blimp, fought after the player takes out Calypso's Regenerator engine and destroying all enemies there.
Appearance[]
Although there is no clear artwork of him, he appears to be a large, pale, shirtless man with a smooth head, and a horn on the back of it. As well as having red eyes.
Story (Manual)[]
Primeval is the mightiest of Calypso's demon henchmen. He is the guardian of the big guy's blimp and the boss of the level. He is highly maneuverable, his special weapon is incredibly powerful and he has access to all special weapons in the game. Primeval's vehicle surrounds him with a roll cage so he's also not afraid to take a tumble.
Trivia[]
- Primeval's name is either derived from the term "Prime Evil," a reference to the word "Primeval" as an allusion stating that he is the oldest living demon from Hell, or both.
- The TMIII manual tries to explain why Primeval has no picture in-game: "Photo not available. Primeval was busy tormenting souls when photos were taken."
- The working name for Primeval was "Head Hunter".[1] It was listed as such in some magazines and in 989 Studios' website.[2]
- The name Head Hunter was used for the name of Primeval's special in the Prima's Strategy Guide.
