Quiet is the deuteragonist of the Twisted Metal television series.

Appearance[]

Quiet is a dark-skinned Latin-American woman with dark black hair appearing to be aged in her mid-to-late 30s. While initially seen wearing a grey hoodie, she later wears her brother's jacket, coupled with a white long-sleeve shirt, jeans, and a Reaper mask acting as a scarf around her neck. Quiet is also missing the middle finger from her left hand which was amputated by her slave handlers, something she eventually covers up with a piece of prosthetic jewelry after she and John are abducted by the Convoy.

Personality[]

Due to the trauma she suffered by her slave owners at Orange County, Quiet hardly speaks except when expressing her annoyance to John's antics.

Quiet also has a brusque way of vocally communicating with others, often using expletives and flipping others the bird.

She has a close relationship to her brother, whom she wanted to share a better life with in the inner cities. His death is what spurred her to take revenge on Agent Stone.

Relationships[]

Loud[]

Quiet has been with her brother for most of her life, being an integral part of her life. So much so that after his death, she would still sometimes imagine him being there, being loud and annoying like he used to be.

John Doe[]

While not the best of friends at the beginning, they were forced to cooperate until they reached their destination. Over time however, they begin to bond and eventually develop a romantic relationship. Although they still fight with each other quite often.

Agent Stone[]

After forcing her brother to kill himself in order to save her, Quiet seeked revenge on Stone for most of the series. She even infiltrates his main base in order to exact her vengeance. Even though she failed, and later decided to give up on her quest for vengeance and live out with John, eventually both of them clashed with Stone one last time, but instead of finishing him off, she gave him a choice - to bleed out, or kill himself, a similar proposition he gave to her and her brother.

History[]

Background[]

She lived most of her life in the Orange County Farmlands as a lower-class citizen along with her brother. One day, she applied him and herself to be servants for four years in exchange for a promised O.C. beachfront property. After agreeing, they were separated, and Quiet now had a Keeper by the name of Mariah. At some point in time, she disobeyed her, which resulted in the Keeper removing Quiet's middle finger and wearing it as jewelry.

Three years after not seeing her brother, they re-encountered at an Astral Burger, with Quiet now refusing to say a word due to fearing what her Keeper may do. They later found out that the promise wasn't true, as they saw a servant in a manic state who stated she finished her four years, yet received no property whatsoever. Soon after, enforcers referred to as "Reaper" arrived in a hearse, and shot the servant in the head. Quiet and her brother took this opportunity to reconvene, but were soon interrupted by Loud's keeper Kerwin, who he spat at in the face. Kerwin then dragged Loud outside in front of the Reaper duo, but before giving him to them, he cut off his right ear. Quiet then killed both of the Reapers and then Kerwin, saving her brother. Afterwards, they stole the hearse and escaped.

Season 1[]

In the beginning of the Season, Quiet and her brother were scavengers, stealing anything they came across in order to survive. They briefly encountered a Subaru and tried to steal it, but were found out by the owner, a Milkman named John Doe, and escaped. Some time later while on Nevada, they were chased by the Lawmen gang, led by Agent Stone and his second in command Agent Shepard. At the end of the chase, they fell in Stone's trap - a mine that sent their hearse flying. After being captured, Stone offered them a choice - either die together, or one of them has to kill themselves to save the other. Loud sacrificed himself, allowing his sister to live on. However, she was branded with the Lawmen mark.

Later in Lost Vegas, she encountered the same Milkman from before, and tried to steal his car again at gunpoint. However, they were interrupted by Sweet Tooth, who chased them in order to invite them to his show, which resulted in them crashing into a hotel and having to hide from him on foot. After a short time, Quiet is captured by Sweet Tooth, and both were forced have to watch his stand-up routine. She finally spoke once again while being honest about the lackluster quality of his show, which Sweet Tooth appreciated, resulting in him letting both of them go. Afterwards, John Doe agreed to take her to the nearest outpost, but they ended up encountering a Lawmen checkpoint, where Shepard, Stu, and Mike were present. Quiet and Shepard recognized each other, but before she could shoot him, Mike stunned her.

With both her and John Doe apprehended, they were taken to the Hoover Dam DMV, where they were tortured for information on where they got their map which avoided their bases from. After every torture method failed, Stu was ordered to take them to the end of the red line, where a giant pit awaited them. However, they convinced Stu to let them go instead, and they try to escape together. Quiet, however, killed Shepard, and found a map with all of the Lawmen bases, and she decided to go to their HQ - Topeka. Stu remained behind after being hit with Evelyn's trunk, and was captured by the Lawmen.

Back on the road, they were ambushed by a group of truckers in Colorado who referred to themselves as "The Convoy". Inside they met with Miranda Watts, who asked them to get some medicine to their former leader, Granny Dread. Both of them agreed in exchange for weapons for their car, and went to Amber Rose's house. There, she attempted to poison them thinking they were Holy Men, as they were in their pilgrimage. After the misunderstanding was cleared up and they got the medicine needed, which were some of her flowers, they returned to the Convoy, but not before having to hide from the oncoming Holy Men in a movie theater. There, they watched the movie Blankman together and ended up sleeping the night. After waking up, she noticed him gone, and went to the lobby only to find him washing her brother's jacket, which makes her furious as it was the only part of her brother she had left. Back at the Convoy, they delivered the medicine, and were told that the medicine was actually to help Granny Dread pass on. They later watched her funeral, which involved her car being blown up, and later partied. After leaving, Quiet kept one of Amber's flowers.

While on Kansas, after a Vulture tried to steal John Doe's CDs, she used Amber's flower to knock John out and go to Topeka herself. There, she hid in one of the Lawmen's cars and killed the drivers. Inside the city, she was starting to imagine her own brother talking to her again, with him trying to convince her to give up on her revenge. However, she was noticed by Stone and his men, and was invited to battle with him one on one. At the Thrills & Spills Park, both of them fought with their cars - Car 22 Vs. Outlaw, but Quiet ended up losing. Before Stone finished her off, John appeared and fired the blood missile he received from Watts at Outlaw, sending it flying. He then took her to safety.

She woke up in a Astral Burger filled with deceased lunatics called "The Astral-nauts", which was one of the few safe places in the Midwest. While she was angry that John Doe did not finish off Stone, they ended up making love in a ballpit. After staying the night there, bonding, making more love in the ballpit again, fighting with each other, and encountering a Watkyn's Storm, they leave as partners to New Chicago, where John Doe was supposed to receive a package which needed to be brought to New San Francisco.

After arriving to New Chicago, they are greeted with a massive concrete wall with no entrances, except for an elevator in a shack that went down into a basement. There, they were greeted with a voice, which they quickly figure out to belong to the enigmatic Calypso. He gives them the package and are ordered to leave. Not wanting to go through Topeka again to return, John tried going around north, where he notices that they had a Milkmen Pit Stop there - The Nut House. After they arrived, Quiet met John's ex-girlfriend, Bloody Mary, who she ended up fighting later after John slipped up about the package, and his prize of becoming a citizen of New San Francisco. After seemingly killing Bloody Mary, they leave, and John lets Quiet drive his car.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike the other characters that are already established in the franchise, Quiet is a brand new character (along with her brother Loud).
  • Quiet and her brother drove a hearse at the beginning of the series, instead of the previous drivers of Shadow from the videogames, such as Mortimer or Raven. This was due to Quiet having stolen it from a couple of Reapers from the O.C., who were more thematically aligned with the hearse.
