"He writes the songs! He writes the sooooooongs! *Evil laughter*"
Story (Manual)[]

When Mr. Zombie isn't thrashing on some new tune, he likes to take to the streets and cause some mayhem. From his early days on the rock scene in LA, Zombie could see that the streets needed some cleaning up. With his souped-up car of destruction, Zombie demands total respect and might use you as inspiration for a new song...after you've been destroyed. His special weapon is a powerful vortex that detonates into a shockwave.

Melvin: "So be it!"
Trivia[]
- The video that was seen in the ending came from the music video for "Superbeast". It uses the Girl On A Motorcycle Mix of Superbeast's intro.
- This marks the third time a version of Superbeast was used in the series. The first time was the original mix in the Hollywood level from Twisted Metal III; and the second time was a remix made for Minion's Maze from Twisted Metal 4.
- In the credits, it is said that Rob Zombie is voiced by himself, although other sources say he's voiced by Jon St. John who also voiced Melvin and the Trash Man. It's most likely John St. John voiced the head from the ending and his bio, while Rob Zombie himself is credited for the music video in the ending.
- He is one of the two characters in the Twisted Metal series to drive an old-fashioned vehicle. The first being Damien Coles from Twisted Metal III, who drives Firestarter.
- He is the third character in the Twisted Metal series (and in Twisted Metal 4) to have someone else speak for him in the game. The other two are Sweet Tooth and Captain Grimm.
- In an early version of the game dated October 21, 1999,[1] his bio dialogue was much longer than what ended up being used in the game, with the dialogue referencing lyrics from I Write the Songs by Bruce Johnston. The full dialogue was: "He writes the songs that make the young souls screeeeeeeeeam! He writes the songs that make the undead dreeeeeeeeeam! He writes the songs that make the old souls cryyyyyyyyy! He writes the songs! He writes the sooooooongs! *Evil laughter*"
