Shadow is a recurring vehicle that made its first appearance in Twisted Metal 2, and has appeared in all following games except for Twisted Metal III and Twisted Metal 4. It also makes an appearance in the Twisted Metal TV series by Peacock. It is always depicted as a hearse, and is usually driven by someone of dark, vengeful, and/or gothic origin. Its Special Weapon has remained similar throughout the games it has appeared in.

Description[]

Shadow is depicted as a hearse that is usually colored purple and black. The most recurring driver for Shadow is Mortimer Scharf, although in Twisted Metal: Black it is driven by Raven.

Its primary Special Weapon has always involved shooting out a projectile that can be detonated at the driver's will. The projectile itself varies between games, being a Grim Reaper in Small Brawl, a coffin in Twisted Metal (2012), and a literal shadow in all other games,

Trivia[]

  • Shadow is one of the two recurring vehicles whose drivers get what they want in every game they appeared in, without being tricked by Calypso nor having any of the wishes backfire. The other is Crimson Fury.
  • With the exception of Small Brawl, Mortimer is always accompanied by a raven, which is, incidentally, the name of the driver in Twisted Metal: Black.
