Simon Whittlebone returns in Twisted Metal: Head-On, once again driving Mr. Slam.

Appearance[]

This incarnation of Simon looks very different when compared to his original appearance from Twisted Metal 2. He appears with parted brown hair, as opposed to his orange crew-cut. Lastly, he has a moustache and appears to be more overweight than in TM2. He also seems to have lost his Swiss accent, now sounding much more American, and almost like a stereotypical "nerd/geek."

Bio[]

Simon Whittlebone was the mastermind behind Whittlebone Tower; a skyscraper that was to stretch taller than any building that had come before it. While the building was under construction, Simon climbed to the top of the tower and shouted to the universe that this creation made him a god. He lost his balance and fell to the ground. With the mastermind dead, the tower was never finished. Companies tried to tear the remains down, but strange and ghostly things always kept people at bay; Simon's spirit has been haunting the tower. His spirit possesses one of the construction vehicles and he enters Twisted Metal with the hopes of being reborn so he can finish his tower.

Quotes[]

  • "Of course it's me! Who else will it be?"
  • "You know who I am! And you know why I'm here."
  • "Whittlebone Tower was to be the greatest architectural achievement of all time! Oh, it was going to be magnificent!"
  • "This tower shall reach the heavens! I will be less a man than a god!"
  • "Well, perhaps I got a little careless. But when I died, my spirit was bound to my incomplete tower. My soul burns with the need to finish my masterpiece!"
  • "I've spent much of my spirit keeping people from destroying of what remains of my unfinished tower. I fear what left of me will vanish forever if I keep this up. Please, please! I just...I wish to be reborn. Yeah! So that I may complete my life's work!"
  • "Oh yes! Yes! Yes! Hahah...yes!"

Trivia[]

  • Simon's in-game model while driving Mr. Slam is more like his Twisted Metal 2 appearance, with a similar blonde hairstyle.
  • In an early version of Twisted Metal: Head-On when it was still known as Twisted Metal: Rage, the address of the characters were also shown in the driver's info. Simon Whittlebone's address was "Chicago, IL", even though he was supposed to come from Switzerland in TM2.
