Background[]

While most of his past is unknown, after the apocalypse, Stu and Mike were both guards in the insider city of Seattle, and according to Mike, the people there treated both of them like morons. One day, Stu and Mike were caught sleeping on duty thanks to Stu's loud snoring caused by his sleep apnea, which got both exiled from the city. After being exiled, they drove until Nevada, where their car broke down. Stu decided that it would be a good idea to hide out in the woods, but this backfired as they were crawling with Butchers, who captured them and were preparing to eat them.

Season 1[]

Before they met their demise, they were saved by a group of Lawmen. Their leader, Agent Stone, noticed their guard uniform, which made Mike make up a lie that they were in a scouting mission for Seattle looking for trader routes. Thanks to this, Stone asks them to join his Lawmen. Mike accepts right away, while Stu is unsure, but goes along with his friend.

They arrive at Hoover Dam where Stone tells them that they will receive warm meals and hot shower as thanks to upholding law and order, but first they are given an initiation test. In the test, they must kill two Seagulls (looters) who try to steal from one of the Lawmen's supply trucks, but when it came to pull the trigger, Stu wasn't able to do it, and Mike had to save him by killing both of them. Stone warns Stu to not miss next time, but welcomes him to his men anyway. Stu is later seen having painful memories of the kills while his friend seems happier than ever.

Later in the day, Agent Shepard gives Stu the task of operating a pit stop, stopping John Doe and Quiet when they arrive. Quiet jumps out of their car and attempts to shoot Shepard, but Mike tases her before she can pull the trigger. Stu then proceeds to tase John when he leaves the car. Afterwards, Stu and Mike take both of them inside as prisoners, where they are tortured for information on John's mapmaker. Later on, Stu is tasked with making sure John and Quiet jump off the end point of the red line, but manages to be convinced by them to help them escape instead. However, as Stu is helping push their car, the trunk opens and knocks him out. Mike and a few Lawmen later find him and take him prisoner.

The next day, while Stu is waiting his turn to walk the red line, Sweet Tooth invades the Dam and saves him and the prisoners there. All of them end up becoming his fans and join him. Stu has a bonding moment with Sweet Tooth, as they are both big guys with names that start with "S". Sweet Tooth promises him to help him find his fangs, and Stu shows him a map with every outpost controlled by the Lawmen, suggesting that they save the people there, which would give Sweet Tooth even more fans. He agrees, and both ride the ice cream truck to the next location.

After wiping out at least two other outposts, Stu and Sweet Tooth arrive at Blackfield Asylum, where Sweet Tooth wants to find closure. There, he tells his life story to Stu, and takes him to meet his deceased parents which were locked on his old cell. Sweet Tooth goes crazy and stomps the cadavers of his parents, causing Stu to realize the mess he got himself into. Later at night, they walk out of the asylum only to find that all of their people are dead. Stu notices snipers on one of the watchtowers, causing him to jump on Sweet Tooth to save him. Later on, Stu pretends to be dead with ketchup, and Mike falls for it and thinks that he killed him, making Stu upset. Sweet Tooth begins choking Mike, but Stu suggests to keep him alive in order to help bring down Stone. Sweet Tooth agrees.

The next day, Sweet Tooth paints both of them with clown makeup, and likely with info given by Mike, the three of them make their way to the broke blockade in the Midtown Raceway, where they battle against several Lawmen and re-encounter with John and Quiet. One of Sweet Tooth's laughing missiles ends up hitting and destroying the Convoy's Juggernaut, which was an ally of the two. This surprises Stu as he thought they were on their side, but after Sweet Tooth tells him there's no sides, Mike tries killing Sweet Tooth, but is caught by him before he can shoot. Sweet Tooth tells Stu to shoot his friend in order to show his fangs, but Stu ends up shooting Sweet Tooth in the eye instead. Afterwards, both jump out of the ice cream truck and steal of the cars in the race track. They run over Sweet Tooth, thinking they killed him, and drive off.

One month later in the middle of a forest. Stu and Mike found their Shangri-La, with pretend mannequin girlfriends. Stu begins telling the story of his "girlfriend" Strawberry, which was a doctor and a lawyer, and that they met in a strip club. Although the moment is ruined when Sweet Tooth appears out of nowhere, kills Mike, and drags Stu away.
