Warhawk is a massive police helicopter armed with missiles that acts as the final boss in Twisted Metal: Black.
Twisted Metal: Black[]
Warhawk is a unplayable vehicle made for Twisted Metal: Black, acting as the final boss of the game.
As Warhawk is a flying vehicle, it uses Zoomy Missiles instead of machine guns.
Special Weapon
- Warhawk's Ricochet: Warhawk unleashes his own version of the ricochet weapon from the underside of the helicopter. Works like a ordinary ricochet, except for doing a lot more damage in bank shot bonus.
Trivia[]
- On the Junkyard level, if you ride the vertical car crusher to the top, the black cube for unlocking Warhawk's Rooftop for Multiplayer is up there.
- Upon obtaining the cube, the text "WARHAWK UNLOCKED" appears on the screen. This caused confusion for some plays who thought they had just unlocked the vehicle. However, this is because the level's name in multiplayer is just "Warhawk".
- Warhawk was originally intended to be a playable character and even had pictures for the character select screen FMV, as well as having a cut-in portrait for the game's loading screens. However, during this character's development, it was discovered that most of the levels weren't designed to be played by flying vehicles and due to the lack of time this idea was cut.
- Eventually, there would be a playable helicopter in the series.
- Warhawk looks different from his cutscene counterpart during gameplay.
- Its name may be a reference to the 1995 video game WarHawk, a game created by the same people who helped make the Twisted Metal series, that was developed and released right alongside Twisted Metal (1995), and was even a part of the game during early development in where the player would attack drivers in the Warhawk plane. They were eventually separated and codenamed 'Red Mercury' (WarHawk) and 'Firestorm' (TM(1995)).
- At least two other names were considered for Warhawk in development: Black Razer, which can be seen in the character select screen FMV; and DarkHawk, which is set to appear if the game is saved while playing as Warhawk in Story Mode.
