WartHog is an unlockable vehicle from Twisted Metal: Black.
Design[]
It is a tank chassis with the body of a station wagon chained on top.
Special Weapon[]
Original[]
Once you have an enemy in your sights, press the Fire button to release a huge stream of flames from WartHog's cannon. Most effective while being aimed directly towards a single opponent; it can also be used to engulf a large group of opponents in fire. When an opponent is on fire from being hit with this weapon, their turbo gauge drains at a faster rate than normal.
Black Online[]
In Twisted Metal: Black Online, it was given the Minion treatment with Napalm blasts coming out of it, thus further making it more deadly and can easily guarantee kills when used with Mega Guns.
How to Unlock[]
Select the Suburbs as the second level in Story Mode and drive up to the carnival. Turn left, and you'll see a Gas Can pickup on the top of a small hill, which you can jump off of. Go at it with high speed, but don't go too fast or too slow. Once you land on the roof of the building, destroy the roof vent/chimney near you to make a hole that leads to the inside of the building. Drop down into it and you'll find a blocked off corner with a control panel waiting to be destroyed. WartHog will be unlocked upon doing so.
Trivia[]
- This was the first time in the series where Warthog's driver wasn't in the military.
- This incarnation of WartHog originally had nothing to do with the other vehicles of the same name. In an early build from a month before the game's release, this vehicle was named White Knight, meaning the name change to "WartHog" was very last minute.
- The early design of WartHog was used for Outlaw instead.
- In the files from the European (PAL) release of the game, there exist unused FMVs of WartHog. The first one has it leaving Blackfield Asylum (intro), the second is after the battle with Minion (middle), and the third has it driving away in Midtown (ending). The PAL version of the game doesn't include any of the characters' intro, middle, and ending FMVs, with their files (including the unlockable vehicles) being replaced with shots of the cars driving instead.
- During WartHog's ending cutscene when Warhawk explodes, one can see that the vehicle on the building below is Axel, not WartHog. This also applies to Yellow Jacket and Manslaughter.
- This incarnation of WartHog has a Utah state license plate on the front.
